Transformers
API offers a wide variety of transformers to meet any need. Our signal transformers consist of audio frequency, coupling, impedance matching, line matching, line isolating and hybrid transformers for central office or mobile equipment applications in surface mount or through hole formats.
We also have an extensive assortment of pulse transformers, also in SMD or TH formats, for a wide variety applications : T1/E1 and ISDN applications, as well as T3/E3 and xDSL. API has been approved as a source for CEPT/CCiTT, S-Bus and U-Bus transformers and for specific interface ICs for Zarlink (Mitel).
API’s power transformers come in a wide variety of sizes and styles, for switchmode applications (several kHz to MHz) as well as 50/60Hz and 400Hz applications. All are designed to conform to the requirements of international regulatory agencies (UL, CSA, TUV, IEC) and can be built to one of API's UL recognized insulation systems. API has produced single phase units weighing up to 1000 lbs with power ratings up to 30 kW and secondary current ratings of up to 2000 amps.
API also makes various high voltage transformers for use in lasers, fusion splicers for fiber optics and X-ray equipment, with operating voltages up to 120 kV.
